Hyderabad: EMRI Green Health Services (EMRI GHS), an emergency service provider, on Thursday said it has established India’s first Resuscitation Academy at its national headquarters in Hyderabad. This academy is dedicated to excellence in resuscitation training. With this launch, Hyderabad has joined the list of countries where 30 resuscitation academies exist.

The Resuscitation Academy in India (RAI) has been established in partnership with the Global Resuscitation Alliance (GRA). Its primary objective is to enhance cardiac arrest survival rates in India. To mark the occasion, an inaugural Leadership Workshop was held at EMRI GHS Campus, with the Unit for Prehospital Emergency Care (UPEC), Ministry of Health, Government of Singapore, as the technical partner.

Dr G V Ramana Rao, Director, Emergency Medicine Learning Centre (EMLC), set the tone for the inaugural. He informed that the 108 emergency ambulance service operated by EMRI, has attended to over 30 crore emergencies, saving 80 lakh lives, and assisting 7.5 lakh deliveries in their ambulances, till date.
